Through my artwork, I pay homage to some of these ghosts of DC - the places where we gathered together, grooved to the music, strutted our stuff, and generally made merry. Forget ye not...
My designs are taken from my own collage work. The rendering is mostly done via good old-fashioned silk screening. It's a beautifully imprecise method of printing. With each blur of a line, every slightly off-registered layer and the occasional mottled tone we are transported back to a time when most printing was done this way. The smell of fresh ink on a lamppost poster touting an upcoming Go-Go or hardcore show is something we all lived for. I still do.
I have recently been experimenting with Giclée printing for a more precise look. The finish is similar in texture to silk screened art and the colors pop just as hard. I think you'll be inpressed!
These prints are labors of love. I hope you enjoy and love them too. Cheers!
