Still standing since 1978! Nuggets Records has the distinction of being the FIRST place I ever bought my very own CD! It was Fugazi's "Red Medicine" and I couldn't have been more stoked... I was the last person I knew to own a cd player and making the switch from my beloved cassettes was a huge leap of faith for me. It started a buying frenzy that damn near bankrupted my meager income... and it was all worth it.

I was lucky to live in the Fenway in the 90s, what with Blockbuster, Tower Records, Newbury Comics and Nuggets all in my 'hood. Couple that with all the clubs, bars and restaurants that were all in spitting distance and I was one happy dude. The area is way different now, so that's why I am a million times glad that Nuggets is still there, holding down the fort of The Kenmore Square That Once Was...
